Trekking to biggest mountain in the world!

A typical village in the rural areas around Jiri.

Follow the red circles and route finding is very easy. These suspension bridges are dotted all along the paths.

First glimpse of some mountains.

Beautiful girl offering me her chewing gum.

Crossing the Lamjura Pass at 3530 metres - our first snow storm and a warning of how quickly the weather can change in the Himalayas.

There is no such thing as flat ground. Constantly uphill and downhill through the many valleys like this one.

A huge load of around 60kgs. These guys are seriously tough.

The stepped appearance of terraced farming; very popular in Nepal to make the best use of land.

Ama Dablam in the distance. A 6812 metre mountain so not in the same league as Everest but  such a beautiful shape.  Ama Dablam translates to "Mother's necklace" and is considered a tough mountain to climb technically.

The view from Chukhung Ri at 5500 metres. Perfect for acclimatisation and even better for the views!  From here we could  see Ama Dablam (my favourite mountain), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Makalu (8481m) and Island Peak (6189m). The tallest mountain in the world is behind these beasts.

Just after completing the first big pass; Kongma La at 5500 metres.
